Ambulance involved in Boothbay accident

A Boothbay Region Ambulance Service ambulance was allegedly forced off the road around 2:15 p.m. Monday by an unidentified vehicle. The incident occurred at the intersection of Route 27 and Industrial Park Road in Boothbay.
The ambulance was transporting a patient to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick when the accident occurred. No one was injured in the ambulance.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. An initial scanner report indicated the vehicle sped off after “cutting off” the ambulance. The story will be updated as more details become available.
