YMCAs announce new TV series with LCTV

Tue, 01/26/2021 - 11:00am

Starting Friday, Jan. 29, a new television series called “What’s Happening at the Y” will begin airing on Lincoln County TV (LCTV). This series will air once a month for both BR YMCA & CLC YMCA. CLC YMCA’s show will air on the last Friday of every month followed by BR YMCA on the last Saturday of every month.

This new series will be hosted by Jarod Wescott, marketing director at the Boothbay and Central Lincoln County YMCAs. The segment will cover what’s been happening at the Y, what’s new, and what is coming up. The segment will also include an interview with one or more Y directors discussing what their departments do at the Y and for the community.

This month’s guests for CLC YMCA are Lisa Gilbride, director of Racquet & Paddle Sports, and Georgia Ahlers, Youth Tennis coordinator. Lisa and Georgia will share their tennis backgrounds and the impact the sport is having on our youth and community. Boothbay Region YMCA’s guest is their Community Outreach Coordinator, Steph Tucker. Steph will talk about BR YMCA’s community outreach initiatives and how they make an impact in the Boothbay area community.

This new series is a chance for both YMCAs to share with Lincoln County all the hard work that goes into providing these community-serving initiatives, resources, and programs.

The CLC & BR YMCAs are key collaborative leaders improving the quality of life for all by being the champion for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
