Dear Editor:
The story “School committee approves ... budget” on page 11 of the May 21 Register contains erroneous information on the CSD’s 2015-2016 budget.
The 2015-2016 budget does not reflect an increase over the 2014-2015 budget. The 2015-2016 budget is $93,490 less than the 2014-2015 budget.
The $8,001,631 quoted in the story is the net assessment to the towns. This has increased primarily because of a substantial decrease in state subsidy.
