The Winthrop Ramblers won the Mountain Valley Conference girls basketball championship, defeating the Boothbay Region Seahawks, 50-32, on Saturday, Feb. 8 at Lewiston High School.
The game was close the first half, as the Seahawks held a 21-20 lead at halftime. In the second half, the Ramblers outscored the Seahawks 30-11 and went on to win.
Glory Blethen led Boothbay with16 points (including 3-pointers), followed by Chloe Arsenault and Jaelyn Crocker each with seven.
Natalie Frost led Winthrop with 12 points and Aaliyah Wilson-Falcone added 11.
