As winter marches along and we turn our thoughts to the upcoming warmer days of spring, the Webster Beal Student Music Fund Committee would like to remind any local elementary or high school students interested in applying that the applications are due by June 1.

The Webster Beal Fund was established to assist such students in pursuing their interest in exploring music by assisting in obtaining instruments and or instruction.

Once the applications have been submitted to the Committee, through the Opera House, one applicant will be chosen each September.

This year’s recipient is Keegan Murray. Keegan, pictured above, is shown taking a lesson with his teacher, Scott Elliot, a very well known and respected musician who was a good friend of Arthur Webster and Danny Beal, to whom the fund was dedicated to.

Keegan was awarded a bass guitar, practice amp and lessons. He is reportly progressing very well.

Anyone intrested in further information, an application or who would like to make a donation to the fund, is urged to do so by contacting the Opera House at the front office.
