The Arthur Hale Veasey Regatta was held in Spring Cove at Squirrel Island on August 21. It is held every August in honor of its founder, Arthur Hale Veasey, who began the tradition over 70 years ago to provide Squirrel Islanders with competition and entertainment amid the tension and uncertainty of the World War II years.
