Lisa Pawlowski, a 2016 graduate of Boothbay Region High School, has been hired as a news contributor for the Boothbay Register and Wiscasset Newspaper this summer. She just completed her junior year at Husson University where she is studying marketing. Welcome aboard, Lisa.

This past Friday, May 17, we followed the Boothbay Region High School track team to Lisbon and to their last regular season meet, an under the lights meet hosted by Cony High School.

It's been a long year for Boothbay track athletes being that many also competed in indoor track for the first time. These students have grown as athletes over past few months in many different events, including throwing, hurdles, running, and more.

With only the two qualifying meets left, the Mountain Valley Conference this Thursday May 23 and the state championship next Saturday, June 1, the team is starting to wrap up another successful season.

Led by head coach Nick Scott, there have been many great performances by the athletes, many of which were demonstrated at the Cony meet. Some of the standout performances for the boys team included Gerald Gagne placing fifth in the 100m dash, Blake Erhard placing first in the 400m dash, and Will Perkins placing second in both the 3200m run and the 800m as well as third in the 1600m run. Some of the standout performances for the girls team included Ava Schlosser placing second in the 1600m race walk and the 4 x 4 meter relay team that placed seventh with last-minute substitute Riley Sullivan.
