Theft at Oak Street Provisions

Tue, 09/16/2014 - 5:15pm

Around 9 p.m. on Sept. 3, three wooden buoys hanging outside Oak Street Provisions in Boothbay Harbor were stolen.

Two security cameras outside Oak Street captured the theft.

On film, a light-colored SUV drives past, backs up, and parks in front of the building. A man gets out of the vehicle while the passenger remains seated. The man then quickly grabs the all three buoys hanging on the building, gets quickly back into the car, and drives away.

“We won those buoys in the 5k race,” owner Doug Roberts said. “I've never won anything in my life.”

“They have sentimental value,” owner Elise Roberts said. “We'd really like them back.”

The man is described by Roberts as a middle-aged man wearing shorts and a polo-type shirt. The theft has been reported to the Boothbay Harbor Police Department and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 207-633-2451.
