The Spruce Mountain Phoenix defeated the cold shooting Boothbay Region Seahawks, 65-40, Saturday night in Jay.

Boothbay fell behind early and couldn’t rally against the now 10-2 Phoenix.

The Seahawks were led by Kyle Ames with 16 points and Hunter Crocker with 15.

Spruce Mountain was led by Brett Frey with 16 points, followed by Andrew Shaw with 12 and Mason Shink with 11.

Boothbay fell to 8-5 with the loss and will next host Winthrop (10-2) on Wednesday, January 24.
