Spruce Mountain bests Lady Seahawks

The Boothbay Region High School girls varsity basketball battled Spruce Mountain for the MVC title on Valentine's Day. After Spruce Mountain pulled ahead in the third quarter, Boothbay fought hard and scored 22 points in the fourth quarter to tie the game. A last second 3-pointer by Spruce Mountain's Emily Hogan won the game for the Phoenixes, 54-51.

After the boys' loss against Dirigo, the girls are up next against Spruce Mountain. Last time the Seahawks played the Phoenixes, they suffered a 37-41 defeat.
