Special thanks to Peter Gardiner
The wheels are turning as the new cadre of flags have started meetings to plan for the 2014 season and beyond. Of major interest to all is the fact that the Master Plan committee has now been superseded by the construction and engineering committee!
This gives us a strong indication that things are happening and that we will soon be hearing of active plans for implementing some of the long anticipated changes in property use and design.
Commodore Krow announces that Past Commodore Neil Newton will chair the committee composed of Jim Hunt, Rear Commodore Eric Hakanson, Bob McCann, Bill Seep, PC Tony O’Neill, Penny Matthews and Carl Morin.
Special thanks has been extended to Peter Gardiner for his work as Chair of the Master Plan Committee. The new committee will begin wrestling with what can be done immediately, what will take longer for permitting and design and what, if any, changes will be beneficial to the existing plans toward making the final product most useful to the membership. Look for more news during the coming winter months.
The Ghosts, goblins, ghouls, and just plain ordinary folk all descended on the Mutch household last Thursday night for our annual Halloween bash. Over 60 folks attended and enjoyed the decorations, the discussions, and the tasty morsels that abounded in quantity and quality. Special thanks to the host and hostess, Andy and Alice and to the co-host Gardiner Rapelye for making the event possible. The hostess was resplendent in her red velvet robe outfit and among others, Bones Brooks creaked around everywhere.
The next gathering is Thursday, Nov. 21 at the home of Rear Commodore Eric Hakanson and his trusty bride Sandy. The location has beautiful views of the Damariscotta River and the usual BYO & BY hors d’oeuvres are the modus operandi. Louise is still looking for hosts for the February and March events; time to step up now and call her at 207-882-5525 saying, “I’ll do it!”
