Southport firefighter raising funds

Wed, 09/05/2018 - 8:45am

Caitlin Shepherd, firefighter for the town of Southport, is registered to participate in the 2018 Maine 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb in Portland on Sept. 16. She and her teammates will be climbing to honor and remember America's fallen firefighters and to raise funds to support the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

Her teammates include Matthew Olsson of the Woolwich Fire Department, Yoannis Reyes Martinez of the Freeport Fire Department, Caitlin Demers of the Minot Fire Department and David Jordan of the Alna Fire Department.

“We are asking folks to support our commitment to raise funds by making a donation so that our fallen heroes and the sacrifice they made on 9/11 will never be forgotten and to recognize the continued sacrifices made by those in the fire service and their families,” said Shepherd via email.
