The Southport Climate Action Team will host workshop #2 on Thursday, Oct. 12, 6-8 p.m., at the town hall.

The first workshop, held Sept. 28, gave a global overview of climate trends and impacts since 1920 and talked about changes specific to Maine and Southport. The assembled group of 28 expressed concerns ranging from saltwater intrusion in wells and wildfires to coastal erosion and more.

The second workshop will summarize the first workshop findings, review the state’s community action list and offer facilitated breakout sessions (in person and on Zoom) where community members will identify criteria to prioritize climate actions and then identify which climate actions will be prioritized to move forward toward funding through the Climate Action Grant.
