‘Sledding to Sweden’ in its 11th year
Healthy Lincoln County, Let’s Go! Lincoln County and Lincoln County Healthcare, with the support of many local businesses, nonprofits and schools, will be sponsoring the Annual Physical Challenge for the 11th year in 2014.
The Challenge is a seven-week winter event in which participants are physically active at least 30 minutes, four times a week to reach the goal of “traveling” to a destination location and returning to Maine. This year the challenge is titled “Sledding to Sweden” and Mainely the Moose and Redy will be headed to the snowy Sweden. This is the first year we will be traveling to another wintery location; as we look to encourage folks to get outside and enjoy all that winter has to offer.
Exercise by yourself, or get a team together and exercise with friends, family, co-workers and neighbors. The winter months in Maine are long so this program encourages individuals and teams in the community to get active, get outside, and have fun!
The program will run from January 13 through March 2, and many indoor locations will be made available for participants to walk safely for free. When you register you will be given a map, walking locations list, and participation bracelet.
Stop by Lincoln County Healthcare at 66A Chapman Street, Damariscotta; or call the Education Team at 207-563-4540 (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. except holidays) to register or with questions. Please register by January 3, 2014.
Also let us know if you would like Mainely Moose and Redy to travel to your school or business to award medals in March.
