Six Artists of the Month ring in the new year

Southport Artists Maria Doelp, Sue Heil Kibbe, Diane Spofford Randlett, Fran Scannell, Jane Southworth and Lauren Stockwell will be featured in their “Local Color” Show at the Southport Memorial Library for the months of January and February.
After taking drawing and painting lessons at the Boothbay Region Art Foundation, these artists wanted to continue the inspiration and camaraderie they shared. The group found a welcoming winter space at the Southport Library on Thursday afternoons.
The “Local Color” Show will feature a variety of painting styles and media by these artists. The show will run from Jan. 2 to Feb. 27.
The library is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with additional evening hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-9.
