UPDATE: Head Tide Hill Road back open
UPDATE: The sheriff's office has posted the following on Facebook:
"(The) situation has been resolved safely with one subject taken into custody after extended negotiations. The road is again open to traffic. Further information will be released (Friday)."
Original post: Today, Thursday, Aug. 20 at about 9 a.m., Lincoln County Sheriff's Office deputies attempted to serve an arrest warrant on Head Tide Hill Road in Whitefield. The subject of the warrant fled into a residence and currently is refusing to submit to arrest. Based on the threats deputies received from the subject involved, the Sheriff’s Office has received assistance at this scene from the Maine State Police Tactical and Crisis Negotiation Teams.
The scene is currently contained and there is no immediate threat to those in the area. Deputies will remain on the scene with other community partners until this event is resolved. Head Tide Hill Road will remain closed until this event has concluded. We are asking all to avoid the area and allow the first responders on scene to do their job.
