Senior citizen club meetings resume
The Boothbay Region Senior Citizens Club has resumed its meetings. The club met on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the Boothbay Fire Department with 31 regular members and five new members in attendance.
The meeting started with the members saluting the flag. In honor of the 9/11 victims, the group then sang “God Bless America.”
The treasurer’s report was presented and unanimously approved.
The group then sang Happy Birthday to all the members having birthdays in September.
The program for the luncheon included entertainment by Bruce McDonald on the fiddle and Paul DiMascio on the guitar. There was a lot of toe-tapping as the group appreciated the wonderful music. The meal included hamburgers, cheeseburgers and hot-dogs with red roasted potatoes, pasta salad, and fruit with whipped cream prepared by “Mr. C,” Chris Gistis.
On Wednesday, Sept. 25, Jane Carpenter presented a program on identify theft. The meal was pot roast. Those who attended the last meeting will automatically be included in the numbers for the next luncheon so no need to call in unless you do not plan to attend; if you did not attend the last one but wish to attend the October 9 meeting, you certainly are welcome. In either case, please call president Mary Hull on or before Sunday, Oct. 6 at 207-633-4189 to let her know.
At the October 9 meeting, the entertainment will be country singers Tim Sprague, and Garry and Bob Blackman.
The October 23 meeting will include Kay Brown on the piano.
An exciting fall foliage/shopping/luncheon trip is being planned for Wednesday, Oct. 16. For more information, call treasurer Debbie Mullens at 207-633-7874.
For all regular luncheon meetings, please plan on arriving by 11:15 a.m. as the meeting begins promptly at 11:30 a.m.
