Seahawks track and field traveled to Cony High School in Augusta May 17 to compete in the Capital City Classic, the last meet before the Mountain Valley Conference Championship. The Seahawk boys placed fifth and the girls ninth out of 14 teams which included Chop Point School of Woolwich, Cony, Dirigo, Gardiner, Kents Hill, Hall-Dale, Maranacook Community, Mountain Valley, Richmond, Winthrop, Lisbon and Wiscasset high schools, and Erskine and Monmouth academies.

Boys’ results

Gerald Gagne took fifth and eighth in the 100m and 200m dashes in 12.28 and 25.6 seconds. Blake Erhard took first in the 400m dash in 53.98 seconds.

Will Perkins, Fox Elder, Erhard, and Graham Harris, took second, sixth, ninth and 18th in the 800m race in 2:08, 2:13.92, 2:15.85 and 2:28.5. Perkins, Harris and Nathan Chatterton took third, 14th and 16th in the 1600m race in 4:50.42, 5:14.37 and 5:17.67. Perkins took second in the 3200m run in 11:10.81.

Quinn Ranta took sixth and eighth in the 110m and 300m hurdles in 19.05 and 49.92 seconds. Ranta also took seventh in the triple jump with 36’11”.

The Seahawks’ 4x400m relay team took third in 3:56.18 and the 4x800m relay team took first in 9:16.67.

Brady Harmon, Zach Rollins and Gareth Hodgdon took 12th, 13th and 38th in discus with 79’3”, 78’11” and 55’9”. Morley, Ranta and Rollins took 10th, 19th and 51st in javelin with 101’10”, 92’9” and 65’7”. Harmon, Rollins and Hodgdon took 20th, 29th and 32nd in shot put with 30’5”, 27’8” and 26’7”.

Girls’ results

Kate Wickline and Grace Campbell took eighth and 14th in the 800m race in 2:47.13 and 2:54.79. Wickline and Campbell also took eighth and 13th in the 1600m race in 6:14.54 and 6:30.94.

Zada Smith took 19th and 21st in the 100m and 300m hurdles in 22.78 seconds and 1:06.37.

The Seahawks’ 4x400m relay team took sixth in 5:18.33.

Riley Sullivan, Emma Hodgdon, Cally Margaret and Cassidy Hicks took 11th, 14th, 22nd and 39th in discus with 67’9”, 65’5”, 55’ and 39’8”.

Hodgdon and Margaret took 15th and 27th in javelin with 61’5” and 46’.

Sullivan, Margaret and Hicks took 11th, 29th and 44th in shot put with 23’4.5”, 19’1” and 15’5.5”.

Ava Schlosser took second in the 1600m race walk in 9:41.88.

The MVC meet will take place at Lisbon High School on Thursday, May 23.
