Seahawks see strong open to track and field season

Seahawks track and field hopped the Sheepscot River to Wiscasset April 22 to face the Wolverines along with Monmouth Academy and Winthrop High School for the boys and also Chop Point School for the girls.

Gerald Gagne placed first in both the 100m and 200m dashes with times of 12.45 and 27.81 seconds.

Isaac Bradstreet Doughty placed fourth in the 200m dash in 30.4 seconds and 15th in discus for a 37’ throw.

Will Perkins placed first in the 800m and 1600m runs in 2:14.34 and 4:56.82. Perkins also placed first in the high jump with a 5’8” jump. John Roberts placed fourth in the 800m run in 3:05.81. Nathan Chatterton placed sixth in the 1600m run in 5:26.78

Quinn Ranta placed second in the 110m hurdles in 19.62 seconds; third in the high jump with a 5’2” jump; and second in the triple jump spanning 35’9”.

Zach Rollins placed eighth in discus with a 68’2” throw and sixth in shot put with a 28’6.25” put.

Gareth Hodgdon placed 11th in discus with a 52’4” throw; ninth in javelin with a 51’6” throw and ninth in shot put with a 25’11” put.

Kate Wickline, Falyn Harriman and Ava Schlosser placed second, third and fourth respectively in the 800m run in 2:55.45, 3:14.05 and 3:15.53.

Grace Campbell placed third in the 1600m run in 6:48.21. Riley Sullivan, Emma Hodgdon and Cassidy Hicks placed fourth, sixth and 14th respectively in discus with throws of 62’2”, 55’ and 35’6”. Sullivan, Hodgdon and Hicks placed fifth, seventh and 14th respectively in shot put with puts of 22’, 19’9” and 15’7.5”. Emma Hodgdon placed seventh in javelin with a throw of 50’8”.

The Seahawks travel next to Farmingdale on Tuesday, April 30.
