Seahawks indoor track Jan. 3 results

Seahawks indoor track teams returned to the University of Southern Maine in Gorham Jan. 3 to face York, Gray New Gloucester, Freeport, Cape Elizabeth, Lake Region and Mountain Valley high schools. The boys team placed fifth overall and the girls team tied with MVHS for sixth.

Jordan Pait and Cody Field ran the 55-meter and 200-meter dashes with Pait placing 18th and 21st and Field placing 30th and 27th. Pait’s times were 7.93s and 28.85s; Field’s were 8.75s and 33.93s.

Ryan Russell raced the 800-meter run placing 10th in 2:26.06. Nathan Chatterton and Fox Elder raced the one-mile run placing fourth and 10th in 5:10.82 and 5:28.31. Will Perkins and Ryan Clark raced the two-mile run placing first and seventh in 10:09.89 and 13:03.36.

Quinn Ranta competed in the 55-meter hurdles, high jump and triple jump placing second, sixth and fifth. Ranta’s time for the hurdles was 9.44s and his jumps were 5’6” in the high jump and 36’1.5” in the triple jump.

Grace Campbell and Ava Schlosser placed second and fifth in the one-mile run in 6:17.93 and 7:01.2.

Caden Royal placed 11th for the boys and Marissa Davison 14th for the girls in the shot put events with puts of 25’9.75” and 16’3.5”.

The Seahawks travel to Gorham Jan. 10 to face York, Greely, Cape Elizabeth and Lake Region high schools and North Yarmouth and St. Dominic academies.
