Seahawks defeat Lisbon, lose to Winthrop

Fri, 05/24/2019 - 1:15pm

The 2019 Boothbay Region High School girls tennis team completed its season with a 3-1 victory at Lisbon on Thursday, May 23. This followed the 5-0 loss at home to Winthrop on Wednesday, May 22.

The Seahawks missed making the playoffs this season, finishing with a 3-7 record and in ninth place in Class C South, but the team’s players were all underclassmen so coach Alex Arsenault will have at least five veterans to work with in 2020.

As a side note, BRHS boys coach Mark Gorey graciously filled in as the girls coach at Lisbon when Arsenault was unable to make the match.
