Considering the position you are running for, what do you feel are the three most pressing issues?

1. Preserving the history of Boothbay Harbor and preparing for the 21st Century is most important. The natural beauty of our peninsula is a magical draw to those who respect our world. The future is ours, we have the opportunity to elect those who respect our community and the sacred values that we have always stood for and will continue to stand for.

2. Taking care of our school system, other infrastructure and affordable housing , especially for families. We need families in our community to provide a future. A future that includes young adults, children, retired persons, and those that work in our service industry. Our school system needs support, repairs and improvements. The footbridge, a focal point in the beauty of Boothbay Harbor, needs repair. The rules and regulations concerning both the East and the West side of our town need to be consistent.

3. Promoting small business and year round opportunities for enhancement of the entire peninsula. Boothbay Harbor is a destination. We are different from other coastal towns, we are unique and beautiful. We need to enhance and protect the fact that we are different. Small businesses and year round businesses are very important to the survival of our town. We are special and need to preserve what we have!

Any other thoughts on why you are running or what you can bring to the office?

I have lived in this community for over 40 years and have seen many changes, good and bad, that have all had a lasting effect. I know I can make a difference. The only “special interest” that I am involved in is the special interest of our entire community. My children are grown and I no longer operate the Carriage House Restaurant so I have more time to dedicate to what is happening to our wonderful part of the world.

I want and will appreciate your votes. I will work hard for all residents of Boothbay Harbor, young and old, and the entire peninsula.
