Rev. Charles Carrick at Ocean Point Wilson Memorial Chapel June 26
The Rev. Charles Carrick will lead the first service of the season at the Wilson Chapel on Ocean Point on Sunday, June 26. The service is at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome.
Rev. Carrick is a graduate of Drexel University (1984, BS computer science) and Yale Divinity School (1987, master of divinity). He is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, having served churches in Pennsylvania for over 14 years. He has served as the executive director of the Hazleton Enlarged Ministry, a cooperative ministry of 14 churches in the Greater Hazleton Area. In his last full-time appointment, Rev. Carrick served Conyngham UMC for eight years.
Rev. Carrick is in his 18th year at Wyoming Seminary and serves as chaplain. He teaches AP Computer Science, Introduction to Electrical Engineering, 9th grade STEM Foundations, and STEM courses in Robotics, Submersibles, and Flight. Geometry, Algebra I, Algebra II, Bible, World Religions, Moral Philosophy, and Post-Apocalyptic Literature are other courses that Rev. Carrick has taught, and he continues to coach Wyoming Seminary's boys varsity soccer team. Skiing, snowboarding, and kayaking are other sports passions.
Rev. Carrick and his wife, Jill Clay Carrick, have a home at Farnham Point. Jill is the head of Wyoming Seminary's Lower School Science Department and teaches science and computer.
The Carricks have a daughter, Grace, who will be entering Wyoming Seminary's 8th grade this fall (class of 2021). Their son, Jordan, is an aerospace engineer at Moog, Inc. in Salt Lake City, Utah.
