Dear Editor:

For years and years, I have continued to drop hints to Mike Smith hoping he would be moved to run for the thankless job of Edgecomb town selectman. Mike and I do not agree on everything, but that is not the point.

When I look at Mike, I see a person who cares about Edgecomb, who cares about his neighbors, and who consistently cares about doing what feels right. He has always been one to take a personal interest in local issues and is constantly polling everyone, listening to and learning from folks to gain new insights.

I feel confident that local public opinions would not only be heard, but sought out if Mike were in office.

Mike's deep-rooted sense of integrity holds him in good stead for any public office. I feel so lucky that he has chosen to run in my town of Edgecomb. Thank you, Mike!
