Planning board approves Oak Street Provisions expansion
Oak Street Provisions is going to have more pies, breads and baked goods to offer their customers. Owner Doug Roberts plans to expand his current operation by connecting a 16- by 18-foot pre-constructed addition to his current business.
His current business is located at 43 Oak Street.
The Boothbay Harbor Planning Board approved a building permit for the non-conforming property by a 4-0 vote.
Roberts explained the expansion was to provide a better selection to his customers.
“It’s really an expansion of what we already have,” Roberts said. “We want to carry more coffees, more baked goods, and more breads. But to do that we need more space.”
Roberts said the expansion won’t start “until the snow melts.”
Roberts said it was more economically feasible to purchase a pre-constructed building than to build onto his current building. A wooden deck will connect the addition to his current business.
The Oak Street Provision expansion was the only issue on the board’s agenda.
There are no other planning board meetings scheduled this month.
