Nadeau elected president of Maine Board Of Optometry
On Nov. 6, the Maine Board of Optometry elected Dr. Thomas Nadeau OD of Boothbay Harbor to be president of the board. Dr. Nadeau has served on the Optometry Board since 2012. During that time he served as Chairman of the Continuing Education Committee which he was also elected to continue in that role and as a member of its laws and rules committee. He currently serves on the American Regulatory Board of Optometry’s OE Tracker Committee and served one year on their National Board of Examiner’s Optometry Review Committee
The Maine State Board of Optometry was established to protect the public through the regulation of the practice of optometry in the state of Maine so as to maintain high professional standards. The board investigates all complaints and cases of non-compliance with optometric laws, rules and regulations, conducts hearings, and brings all such cases to the notice of the proper prosecuting officer. It also enforces standards established by law and makes such other reasonable rules and regulations, consistent with the law, as the Board deems necessary.
