The Mountain Valley Falcons jumped out to a 26-9 lead at halftime and went on to defeat the visiting Boothbay Region Seahawks, 55-29, in Rumford Monday night.

The loss stopped a 23-game winning streak by the Seahawks girls basketball program. Boothbay played without three players due to illness.

Rylee Sevigny led Mountain Valley with 19 points, followed by Kiersten Lyons with 11.

Boothbay was led by Glory Blethen with 14 points. Maddy Faulkingham added seven points.
