Methodist Church welcomes Cheryl Dilts as musician and choir director

Cheryl Dilts, a native of Massachusetts who possesses over 30 years of church musician experience, has joined the First United Methodist Church of Boothbay Harbor as musician and choir director.

She’s gifted in playing all styles of music. She’s also skilled in developing and leading multi-generational choirs of all sizes for various denominations, including the Parsippany Christian Church, the First Congregational UCC Church of Wiscasset, the Days Ferry Congregational Church, the West Waldoboro Community Church, and the Damariscotta United Methodist Church. She’s a member of the St. Cecilia Chamber Choir and the Sheepscot Valley Chorus, and still finds time to perform, and teach voice, piano, and guitar.

Dilts is a graduate of Rider University/Westminster College, Princeton, New Jersey with a BA in music, and she started a master’s degree in music therapy. She taught piano, voice and guitar as the owner of the Lakeland School of Music in Hopatcong, New Jersey.

The Dilts' and their three dachshunds have lived in Wiscasset for 12 years, where she is an ed tech III in Special Services for Wiscasset, teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.
