Meet chefs, support the hungry
Midcoast restaurant chefs/owners from local favorite restaurants have teamed up with Central Lincoln County Adult Education to offer the community a “taste” of their culinary expertise in the dynamic three session demonstration series, “Meet Your Chefs.” Profits from the series will go toward helping the food insecure in our own communities.
Each session will feature a new chef, who will demonstrate food preparation techniques that are used to create a signature dish at his or her specific restaurant. Participants will also sample the cuisine and receive certificates for local restaurants. Donna Carrigan, kitchen designer and owner of Dovetail Design, is offering her beautiful “demonstration kitchen” as the venue.
The program kicks off on Tuesday, Feb. 19 with Chef/Owner Rick Hirsch from the Damariscotta River Grill. He’ll be followed by Chef/Owner Grace Goldberg of Savory Maine in Damariscotta on March 5. Another local chef will be featured in our final presentation on March 19. The class meets from 6-8 p.m. The course fee is $80. A $5 materials fee payable to each guest chef (total $15) is included in the course fee.
This class is sure to fill very quickly, so reserve your spot today. You can register online at clc.maineadulted.org or contact Central Lincoln County Adult Education at 207-563-2811 for more information.
