Lincoln County Animal Shelter extends open hours

Lincoln County Animal Shelter has extended its weekly hours to better accommodate public demand.

“We’re doing this in response to many requests from members of our communities that we be accessible in a way that allows people who are working during the day to come in after work one day during the work week — or on weekends — to adopt our many deserving and loving animals,” noted Sergeant Kathleen Williams of the Wiscasset Police Department, a member of the board of directors at the Lincoln County Animal Shelter.

Lincoln County, which serves 30 municipalities in both Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties, will now keep its doors open to the public for extended hours mid-week, thereby allowing more people to adopt or surrender animals.

The shelter’s full weekly schedule is now as follows: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; closed Monday.
