Though local Methodist churches remain open for safe in-person worship every Sunday (Southport, East Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor), it would not be wise to gather in-person for the “Imposition of Ashes” on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 17. However, those who come to worship on Sunday, Feb. 14 will receive a small packet containing holy scripture for use at home during Lent, and a completely sanitized piece of sackcloth blessed with the sign of a cross made with ashes.

Individual community packets will be available for pickup from the Harbor Church’s front lawn “Clothesline of Caring” (81 Townsend Avenue) from Wed., Feb. 17 through Sat. Feb. 20.
