At least it's not snowing
Surprise, surprise … it’s raining again. Oh well, it could be snow.
BICA had a very well attended potluck on May l5 hosted by some of the lovely Barters Island ladies. Barb, Arlene, Irena, Laura, Anne and Brenda did a great job and as always the food was delicious. Thanks ladies and all that attended and contributed to great feast.
There will be no potluck in June as we will be using Barters Isle Hall to get ready for our annual Yard/Plant Sale which will be held on June 22 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
We still need items for the sale; so if you can contribute or have extra plants we would be very grateful. Please no clothing, appliances or electronic items. Small furniture and household items etc. are great.
Call Evelyn at 207-633-6977 for more information or to arrange drop off time. Remember to mark your calendars to attend this big event; it is always a really good sale.
On July 4 we will once again be feeding a bus group. This year BICA will host about 100 people, which is a very large group. This is a very big fundraiser for BICA, and we will need the help of lots of our island folks.
We serve ham, turkey and lots of casseroles, salads and pies. The committee will be calling on many of our great island cooks to help but if you would like to volunteer to make something please call either Evelyn 207-633-6977 or Loraine 207-633-2828. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
On July l7 BICA will have our annual Cook-Out hosted by East Side Guys! All Trevett residents, both year-round and our summer folks are invited to bring either a great appetizer, large side dish to complement hamburgers and hot dogs or a fabulous dessert.
On August 21 the Hall will host a wonderful Chowder Supper hosted by the "Barter Brothers." More Information for both of these events will be in future columns. And at both events a collection will be taken to help defray the costs. Keep reading Trevett Column.
Barters Island folks really care about each other. As I write this column some of our local men are assisting Rebuilding Together in building a ramp for an island resident who is now handicapped. Thanks to all who are helping make life easier for one of us. Barters Islanders are great!
