Lincoln County Historical Association is gaining a reputation for giving good parties. The organization will cap off the summer season with a fashion show and luncheon at Water’s Edge in Edgecomb on Saturday, Sept. 15. Models will include both men and women, and the fashions have been selected with a Midcoast Maine audience in mind.

Ringleader of the upcoming event is Joe Zoellers, a relative newcomer to the area who has a passion for historic houses. It wasn’t long after his arrival when he volunteered to be a docent at the Pownalborough Court House, and for two years he has hosted the organization’s annual summer members’ party at his home in Wiscasset. Then, drawing on previous experience producing fashion shows as fundraisers, Joe proposed the LCHA Fall Fashion Show.

Some 15 merchants from Boothbay, Damariscotta and Wiscasset are providing clothing and accessories for the models. Faye Snyder, owner of Parade Antiques in Wiscasset has curated a display of historic fashions that will be on view for the guests.

Tickets to the event are $50 and the luncheon includes wine, tea or coffee, and dessert. Seating is limited. To reserve a seat, contact Kerry Cushing at the LCHA office, 882-6817 by Sept. 6.

Proceeds from the fashion show will support historic preservation activities at the 1754 Chapman-Hall House in Damariscotta, the 1811 Old Jail and Museum in Wiscasset, and the 1761 Pownalborough Court House in Dresden.
