Laura Honey receives Tourism Association's 2014 Hall of Fame Award
Laura Honey of Boothbay, who is starting her 50th year at Fisherman's Wharf Inn in Boothbay Harbor this summer season, is the recipient of the Maine Tourism Association's 2014 Hall of Fame Award, the Association announced this week.
The award is presented annually to a member of the association for efforts in promoting tourism in Maine and his or her outstanding leadership in the tourism industry.
Honey serves on the Association's Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Her contributions to Maine's hospitality industry are extensive. She was previously named Innkeeper of the Year by the Maine Innkeeper's Association; received the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award; was Grand Marshal of the annual Windjammer Days parade; and was honored by the Maine Restaurant Association with its Lifetime Achievement Award.
She will be presented with the Hall of Fame Award at the Association's 93rd Annual Meeting & Awards Luncheon at the Samoset Resort on the Ocean in Rockport on Friday, May 16.
