Last interim Community Lunch held at Brady’s

Tue, 05/03/2022 - 8:30am

May 2 saw the last interim Community Lunch of the season at Brady's. Over 80 people turned out to enjoy some fellowship, fabulous food, and to help out beloved community member Chris Sproul who lost her home to fire last week. Haddock chowder, chili, and an amazing chicken corn chowder provided by Lisa Hallinan were just some of the amazing food on the menu.

The leader of the group, Tancy Mitchell, greeted everyone and thanked them for attending. Mitchell expressed her thanks for having been able to hold the lunch at Brady's but hoped in the fall it would be able to return to the original venue of St Columba's where it has been held for many years.

Over $1,000 was generously donated to help get Chris and family back on their feet. Mitchell and Hallinan were joined by seven other volunteers to make the luncheon a huge success. Many thanks to Nicolette, Judy White, Abbie Shaw, Nancy, Ed, Janice and Shane (please forgive this writer for forgetting someone!).

Another lovely part of the afternoon was the announcement of an afternoon romance between Ramona and Rusty!
