Madison came into Porter Gymnasium riding high on a five-game winning streak. After a slow start, which saw Boothbay score  the game’s first seven points, the Lady Bulldogs rallied and finished the first quarter leading 12-11. But that was the last time Madison would hold the lead. Boothbay played a balanced game with a strong performance on both ends of the court and won the 56-36 Mountain Valley Conference contest.

Boothbay improves to 11-2. Madison drops to 8-4. Junior Glory Blethen led all scorers with 20 points. Boothbay had two other scorers in double figures. Senior guard Chloe Arsenault had 15 and Jaelyn Crocker scored 11. Other Seahawk scorers were Josey Smith with six and Kylie Brown with four.

Emily Edgerly and Katie Worthen each scored 14 points to lead Madison.

Boothbay travels to Farmingdale on Jan. 22 to play Hall-Dale (4-8) and will host No. 1 Winthrop (11-1) on Jan. 24.
