Lady Seahawks overtake Greyhounds
The Boothbay Region High School girls varsity basketball team cruised to a 60-34 victory over the Greyhounds January 22 in Lisbon.
After jumping out to a 13-5 lead after the first quarter, the momentum stayed with the Lady Seahawks as they improved their record to 12-2 in the regular season.
Sophomore Morgan Crocker led Boothbay with 15 points, with more than half of her points made from beyond the three point arc. Sarah Caron also scored 12 points.
Boothbay now sits near the top of the charts with Madison in a two horse race for first place in the Western Class C division. Coach Tanner Grover said he believes if Boothbay and Madison were to finish the rest of the season with all wins, Boothbay might overtake Madison for the top spot headed into the tournaments in February.
Game Over: Seahawks win 60-34.
Third Quarter: Seahawks maintain their lead over Lisbon 37-22.
Second Quarter: At the half, Seahawks lead 30-13.
First Quarter: Seahawks outpace the Greyhounds 13-5.
