Help others through CLYNK

Mon, 01/07/2019 - 5:15pm

Dear Editor:

Lately, I've been noticing more redeemable beverage bottles and cans along the side of the road. I'd like to suggest that folks hang onto their bottles and cans and participate in Hannaford's CLYNK recycling program.

There are at least four worthy charitable organizations that I'm aware of in our community where anyone can obtain the green CLYNK bags: the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library, the Lions Club, the Community Center and the Boothbay Region Health Center in the Meadow Mall.

When you've filled the bag, take it with you on your next grocery shopping trip and bring it to the recycle station at the far right side of (as you face) Hannaford. Use the scanner to scan the white label affixed to the bag and the funds automatically go to the local charity from which you obtained the bag.

All of the above mentioned charitable organizations provide valuable services and help to make our community a great place to live. So, please recycle with them and help them with their fundraising efforts.
