Boothbay Region Health Center has announced changes in its staff starting in January 2020.

After 37 years in nursing, Becky Traquair plans to retire. For the past 19 years, she has worked as a member of Dr. Nancy Oliphant’s practice and more recently as a member of Boothbay Region Health Center.

Traquair has been a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2001 and has provided medical care to area patients for almost four decades. She notified Health Center staff this summer about her plans to retire. Patty Seybold, president of the BRHC Board of Directors, praised her work at the Center, saying “We're sad to see her go. Becky has distinguished herself both in her excellent care of patients in the Boothbay Region, but also as a trusted confidante, friend, and mentor for so many.”

Physician’s assistant Andrew Zuber and wife Kandace, RN will join BRHC in January. Kandace Zuber will be the nurse care manager and coordinate care for patients of the Center’s chronic care management, opioid health home, and Prevent & Reverse Dementia pilot program.

Andrew Zuber will be a full-time primary care provider. He has practiced medicine for 24 years, including serving as an Army medic and working locally with Dr. Dana Webster. He has also worked at Boothbay Harbor Family Care Center and in St. Andrews Hospital and Miles Memorial emergency rooms.

Kandace Zuber has 14 years’ experience in a variety of areas including emergency medicine, assessing patients, managing pain and assisting in critical procedures. She was recently a labor and delivery RN in Vermont at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

The Center also announced it has received two matching grants which total $150,000. All donations received by Dec. 31 will be matched, for a possible $300,000 total. To donate, call the Center at 633-1075 with a credit card donation or mail a check to Boothbay Region Health Center, 185 Townsend Ave., Suite R, Boothbay Harbor, ME 04538.

The Health Center’s winter hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
