Great ballgame
On July 27, the softball game was started but, unfortunately, neither team won, as the rain was the winner after about 30 minutes of play. Here's hoping for better weather next week so that a full game can be played.
On August 4, there was a gathering at the ballfield before the ballgame that was lead by Peter Panagore in honor of Johnnie Stevens who recently passed on. The softball results were: Bertrand Team, 5; and Dawson Team, 2. It was a good game and both the players and spectators enjoyed themselves.
Additionally, there was a ballgame grill following the game. The food was great. Thanks to all who volunteered and participated to make it a fun event.
The scavenger hunt this week was a fun time for approximately 30 kids. It was great to see kids from 5 to 15 years old work together to find the various items and clues. The winning team included Sarah Kern, Jane Dawson, Carolyn and Hadley Hornor and Copey Fuller. The second place winners were Teddy and Charlie Fuller, Thomas Hornor, Jack and Tyler Hall and Cooper Boynton. The kids did an amazing job, so congratulations to all the participating teams ... well done.
Next week the Ocean Point Colony Trust Annual Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, August 17. All are welcome, but only paid members may vote. It is not too late to become a member. There will be dessert and coffee at 7 p.m. and the meeting should start at 7:30 p.m. Bring a dessert, if you can.
Playground brick order forms, to complete the playground brick walkway, are now available by calling Alison Butterworth at 207-633-5196. This ongoing project is to support the care and upkeep of the playground. Thank you all for your support.
