Local and nationally known sports legends and Hall of Famers are making arrangements to meet in Boothbay for the 29th annual Boothbay Charities Classic golf tournament, lobster bake and sports auction, Sept. 27 and 28. Mark the dates for this exciting event and all proceeds will go to benefit Special Olympics Maine. Whether it’s football, baseball, hockey, racing or golf, we will likely have something for the sports fan in you.

The festivities will kick off on Friday afternoon, Sept. 27 with a New England lobster and clam bake. The lobster bake will take place under the Big Top Tent at the Boothbay Railway Village beginning at 4 p.m. All participating celebrities of the tournament will be present at the bake, as well as in attendance during the live sports auction that will take place immediately following dinner. One of the newest donations to the live auction is a pair of tickets to the New England Patriots vs. Dallas Cowboys game on Nov. 24 – 50-yard line on the Patriots’ side of the field!

Public is welcome to purchase tickets to lobster bake and auction by contacting Brenda Blackman at 207-380-7770.

A silent sports auction will be available for public viewing and bidding from 4 to 7:30 p.m. on the 27th at the Railway Village. (Results will be announced later that evening) All fans are welcome. Take this wonderful opportunity to meet celebrities and bring home some one of a kind sports memorabilia to adorn your trophy case, with all proceeds going to a wonderful cause!

Boothbay Charities is still looking for sponsors, auction items and gift baskets for this event. Call Brenda Blackman if you are able to help out at 207-380-7770.
