Friends hold annual meeting
The Friends of the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library held their 2016 annual meeting, Monday, Sept. 12 in the Library Great Room, following the regular monthly board meeting.
Attendees approved the board vote to give the Library $30,000 in January, as the Friends have for each of the past five years. President Ann Kelley began the meeting with profuse thanks to all of the volunteers for their Herculean efforts sorting, shelving and selling the donated Used Books. Library Director Tim McFadden brought the Friends up to date on recent and proposed changes at the Library.
Board members announced the end of the temporary moratorium on accepting donated books. The Book Store will accept donations from this date until Thanksgiving, when the Book Store closes. Everyone is reminded that the Store can only sell gently used books, and no text books, yearbooks or encyclopedias.
The meeting ended with socializing and refreshments.
