No serious injuries were reported following a collision between a Land Rover and Ford Focus on July 25 in Boothbay.

Around 1:20 p.m., Benjamin Grant, 44, of Boston, Massachusetts was driving his 2011 Land Rover north on Corey Lane and tried to head north onto Route 27, according to Sgt. Jason Nein of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department. Grant didn’t see the 2002 Ford Focus driven by Brandon Andrews Jr., 17, of Boothbay heading south along Route 27, and the two vehicles collided, Nein said.

“He (Grant) began to make his turn and without seeing the oncoming vehicle,” Nein said.

Andrews complained about minor pains following the accident. Boothbay Region Ambulance personnel checked him over before releasing him to his parents’ care. Andrews was traveling alone and Grant was transporting his wife and two children. Both drivers and all three passengers all wore seat belts, according to Nein.

The Ford Focus’ airbags deployed and the “vehicle is likely totaled,” said Nein. The Land Rover sustained damage to the driver side door and wheel.

Nein said there are no charges pending and the investigation is closed.
