Today, October 2, FAME arrives at the Boothbay Region YMCA.

This is an ongoing effort getting our students and others Set For Success for future education. We’re gifting over 60 students with Free Next/Gen matching grants thanks to the generosity of the Southport Island Association, Rotary Club, Edgecomb Thrift Shop at the Congregational Church and private donors.

To all others in our community, for a mere cost of $25 and sign-up information, FAME will deposit an additional $200 in the grant. You walk away with $225 in a matching grant for someone. Grandparents can come in and purchase as a gift for grandchildren, et al. People can do birthday or Christmas shopping for someone special. The person signing up must be a Maine resident. This growing matching grant must be used for education but not just a four-year college. It can be used to pick up an extra course or for technical training, etc.

The community is invited to come in and just be educated on what this is all about if they’re not prepared to purchase a matching grant today.

We’ll be up in the community room from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and again from 4 to 8 p.m.
