Fall foliage trip October 16
Boothbay Region Senior Citizens Club meetings are held the first and third Wednesdays of each month at the Boothbay Fire Department.
The Club met on September 25 with 30 regular members and two guests in attendance.
The meeting started with the usual saluting the flag.
The treasurer’s report was presented by Debbie Mullen and unanimously approved.
The program for the luncheon included a very informative presentation given by Jane Carpenter. Everyone learned some tips on how to detect identify theft and some ways to avoid it. The group warmly welcomed back past president Sandra Thibault. The meal consisted of pot roast with strawberry shortcake and whipped cream prepared by “Mr. C,” Chris Gistis.
The luncheon meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 9 will be offering lasagna. Entertainment will be provided by country singers Tim Sprague, and Garry and Bob Blackman.
Don’t forget the Senior Appreciation Day being held at the Boothbay Region High School on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. until about 1:30 p.m. with a complimentary luncheon served and great door prizes.
An exciting fall foliage trip is being planned for Wednesday, Oct. 16. The bus will leave from the fire department at 8:30 a.m. and return between 2 and 3 p.m. A trip to Thomaston for the grand opening of the new Walmart store is planned, followed by lunch at the Damariscotta Lake Farm in Jefferson. The foliage should be peak and it promises to be a fun-filled day. For more information and to sign up, call treasurer Debbie Mullen at 207-633-7874.
The October 23 meeting will include Kay Brown on the piano.
Please plan on arriving by 11:15 a.m. for all luncheon meetings as the meeting begins promptly at 11:30 a.m. If you’re not sure whether or not you’re on the list, please call Mary Hull at 207-633-4189 by the Sunday evening prior to the luncheon. We do need to call in the numbers attending to Mr. C!
