Fall adult ed courses begin soon
Boothbay Region Adult Ed’s fall courses begin Tuesday, Oct. 15. If you haven’t already picked up the class brochure you can find them at Hannaford, Video Loft, town libraries, schools and other area locations. Remember to register early so you don’t miss out on a class you want to take.
Have you always wanted to try painting, but aren’t not sure how to start, then you’ll want to take Painting with Acrylics. This four session beginner course is on Tuesday and Thursdays, beginning October 15 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Learn the basic techniques to start creating your own art! Explore line, value, texture, and form as well as how to mix different colors. Bring some of your favorite scenery photos. Call or email for a list of materials and supplies you should bring to class. The class fee is $45. Please register by October 11.
Learn Conversational Spanish, a widely spoken language, and a practical skill for the workplace, in a five session course beginning on Wednesday, Oct. 16. The class meets Monday and Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. You will learn communication skills and vocabulary and practice speaking. Those who want to brush up on their Spanish speaking skills are also welcome to attend. The class fee is $48.
Learn to Troubleshoot and Optimize Windows in this three session class. The majority of the problems people experience with their computers are avoidable, and most can be solved with a few minutes of your time. We will go step by step through typical software, hardware and operating system problems Optimize Windows so that boot-up time is minimal and internet browsing is faster as well as methods for restoring your important files and settings. The class meets on October 16, 21 and 23 from 6 to 8 p.m., and the cost is $35.
