Two-time Olympic Gold medal-winning rower Ellie Logan came home to the Boothbay region for a grand celebration of her accomplishments on November 9. A sign, "Home of Ellie Logan, Rowing Olympic Gold Medalist," was placed below the Welcome to Boothbay Harbor sign at the Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor town line.

Ellie rode through town on top of a fire truck as a dozen area fire trucks sounded sirens. She was brought to the local elementary school -- where she spent many hours -- to greet youngsters, high school students, teachers and townspeople.
