Edgecomb church supper benefits fire department
The annual fundraising supper to benefit the work of the Edgecomb Fire Department will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17 at the Edgecomb Congregational Church. In addition to good food and the opportunity for community to express their gratitude to the fire department members for their service to the town, the event provides an opportunity to learn of the work of the department.
The supper, sponsored by the church Mission/Outreach Committee, will be held in the wheelchair accessible church fellowship hall.
The supper menu is a variety of baked beans, home made casseroles, salads, rolls, beverages and desserts. The supper will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The charge is $7 for adults and $3 for children under age 12.
The thrift shop will open at 4:30 p.m. for browsers who come early. Early arrivals may also peruse and bid on the silent auction items on display. Silent auction items include a 12-foot sailboat, two beautiful handmade quilts, a marble chess set, antiques, power tools, a bicycle, a two-night vacation at a Mooselookmeguntic cottage and many certificates to local shops and eateries.
The winners of the silent auction items will be announced at the supper.
