Dine out May 15 to help BRHS class of 2022

Wed, 05/12/2021 - 8:00am

Emerson Harris, president of the junior class at Boothbay Region High School, is urging families and friends to dine out at local restaurants on Saturday, May 15.

Harris said several restaurants are contributing to the BRHS class of 2022 because the annual junior prom, usually the biggest fundraiser for the junior class, is not being held this year.

"Juniors and seniors, and hopefully other students, parents, teachers and community members, will support the local restaurants this Saturday, and in turn, the restaurants will be supporting our class," said Harris. She said the juniors and seniors plan to dress up for dining out and taking photos.

Participating restaurants include, at press time, Robinson's Wharf, Brady's, McSeagull's, Linekin Bay Resort and Mine Oyster.

Following dinner, the Harbor Theater will be holding a free drive-in movie in the Meadow Mall parking lot. The event is also a fundraiser for the juniors and their own prom night in 2022. They will be selling popcorn, candy and soda on the sidewalk in front of the Harbor Theater. Donations will also be gratefully received. Please practice social distancing when lining up to buy food.
