The Center for Teaching and Learning, a K-8 independent school in Edgecomb, hosted a group of teaching interns from New Jersey's Delbarton School last week. Jack O'Reilly and Mike Bentz toured the school, observed classes, and discussed CTL's approach to literacy instruction with faculty during their visit.

The Center for Teaching and Learning, a K-8 independent school in Edgecomb, welcomes groups of teacher-interns from all over the country and the world. For thirty years, teachers have visited Edgecomb for a week at a time to observe methods developed by CTL’s faculty and adapt them to their own classrooms and schools.

More than 600 teachers from 45 states, Washington, D.C., Australia, Brazil, Canada, Ecuador, England, India, Japan, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Uganda have participated so far in the CTL intern program. Classroom teachers may apply to become interns; the fee they pay helps underwrite tuition assistance for CTL students.

Community members and prospective families are encouraged to call Katy Inman, Head of School, at 882-9706 to schedule a day to attend a whole-school morning meeting and take a tour of the facilities.
